Frequently asked questions

Which ink cartridges fit the Epson SureColor SC-P8500D?
The Epson SureColor SC-P8500D takes Epson Enhanced Matte Posterboard, 24" x 30", 1130g/m², Epson Enhanced Matte Posterboard, 30" x 40", 1130g/m², 5 Sheets, Epson Enhanced Matte Posterboard, DIN A2, 800g/m², 20 Sheets, Epson Enhanced Matte Posterboard, DIN A3+, 800g/m², 20 Sheets, Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper, DIN A2, 102g/m², 30 Sheets, Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper, DIN A3+, 102g/m², 100 Sheets, Epson Photo Quality Ink Jet Paper, DIN A3, 102g/m², 100 Sheets, Epson Singlepack UltraChrome Pro 6 Cyan T48M2 (700ml), Epson Singlepack UltraChrome Pro 6 Cyan T48U2 (350ml) and Epson Singlepack UltraChrome Pro 6 Gray T48ME (700ml) and 13 other genuine cartridges. Every cartridge listed on this page comes from the manufacturer's supply listing for this model.
What roll widths and core sizes does the Epson SureColor SC-P8500D take?
It takes rolls up to 44 in wide on 2 in or 3 in cores. The spindle holds a finished roll up to 169.9 mm in diameter, which is what separates a 150 ft roll from a 300 ft roll of the same paper.
Does the Epson SureColor SC-P8500D use dye or pigment ink?
The Epson SureColor SC-P8500D runs aqueous pigment ink. Pigment ink sits on the surface as solid particles, so prints are more water- and fade-resistant than dye — the reason it is the standard for technical and fine-art output.
What paper can I use in the Epson SureColor SC-P8500D?
We hold 244 paper and media products verified against this machine, 128 of them at the recommended tier, where compatibility is resolved from the printer's published media handling — roll width, core size, the roll diameter the spindle holds and the coating's rating for this machine's ink. The rest come from the supply list the manufacturer publishes for this machine. Either way a roll only appears here if a source says it fits.
How do you know these supplies fit the Epson SureColor SC-P8500D?
Nothing on this page is matched by model name alone: the cartridges and printheads come from the manufacturer's own published supply listing for this exact model and each paper and media roll is checked against the printer's published media handling — roll width, core size, the roll diameter the spindle holds and the coating's rating for this machine's ink. If a part is not listed here, it has not been verified for this machine — call 980-536-0080 and we will check it before you order.
