Point of purchase, posters and photo enlargements are ABAQA’s stated ideal applications. Satin is the practical finish for all three: it holds more apparent contrast than a matte without throwing back the ceiling lights the way a gloss does in a retail aisle.

Ink compatibility

Read this section carefully, because the data has an edge to it. ABAQA’s own product description names latex, solvent and eco-solvent printers, and the roll is sold as a solvent paper. The rating set we hold, however, goes wider: aqueous dye, aqueous pigment, latex and solvent are all rated BEST, with eco-solvent and UV-curable rated compatible. Those two statements do not sit perfectly together. If you are buying this for an aqueous inkjet plotter rather than a latex or solvent machine, confirm the intended chemistry with us before you commit to a pallet — we would rather resolve it up front than have you profile a stock that was built for a different press.

Working with it

The base measures 90% opacity and 140 CIE whiteness, so it is a bright sheet with enough opacity for single-sided display work. ABAQA publishes no overlamination requirement for this paper. Rolls run 36 to 61 inches wide on 3-inch cores; the 61-inch width is what makes it usable on the widest solvent and latex presses without seaming.
