What you should know
Dietzgen 436 is a heavy-weight uncoated bond: 32 lb (120 gsm), 6 mil thick, matte, with a smooth bright-white surface measuring 92 brightness and 145 whiteness. At 96% opacity it is close to fully opaque, and that is the practical difference between this and the 20 lb sheet most plotting runs on.

Weight changes what a drawing is for. A 20 lb print is a working copy; a 32 lb print has enough body to be pinned up, carried and handed across a table without creasing, and at 96% opacity nothing shows through from behind it. The surface still takes pen and pencil for redlines, and the sheet is still compatible with common stapling and binding equipment, so it does not stop being a plan-set paper.
Ink compatibility
Toner is rated BEST and HP PageWide is rated BEST. Aqueous dye, aqueous pigment, latex and UV inks are each rated GOOD. As with the rest of Dietzgen’s engineering-bond range, this is a sheet built around line acuity and toner adhesion rather than photographic colour.
Working with it
Overlamination is not required, but pressure-sensitive, heat-assist and thermal overlaminates are all compatible if a print needs protection from dirt, abrasion and moisture. Rolls run 11 to 45 inches wide and are supplied on 2- or 3-inch cores, so check which core your plotter’s spindle takes before ordering. Dietzgen makes the same uncoated bond in 20, 24 and 40 lb weights if 32 lb is heavier or lighter than the job needs.
