Mounted advertising and posters are Kodak’s stated ideal applications, and the shared word is mounted. Because the adhesive is on the film, the print goes directly onto a board or panel without a separate mounting operation, which removes a step and a source of bubbles from the production process.

Ink compatibility

Aqueous dye and aqueous pigment inks are each rated BEST — the standard aqueous plotter category. Latex, solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks are not rated for this film.

Working with it

Kodak’s protection guidance is broad rather than prescriptive: protect the printed side by mounting under glass, laminating, clear coating or using photographic sleeves, all of which help image durability and stability. Where a laminate is used, pressure-sensitive types provide the best bond and hand application is not recommended. Whiteness is 90 CIE, a warm white by display standards. Rolls run 36 to 60 inches wide on 2-inch cores. One ordering note: the product is sold as 7 mil and the vendor gauge on file is 7.3 mil — a rounding difference rather than a discrepancy, but worth knowing if your finishing equipment is set to a tight caliper.
