KODAK Water-Resistant Self-Adhesive Poly Poster Matte is a matte polypropylene film at 9 mil and 180 gsm with a self-adhesive back. It is the adhesive counterpart to Kodak’s 8-mil water-resistant poly poster, and the extra mil and 50 gsm are largely the adhesive layer. Kodak’s claim for it is stated in terms of printers rather than chemistries: this versatile product produces deeply saturated, long-lasting prints when created with HP, Encad and Epson inks.

Every application on that list is a mounted one, which follows from the adhesive back — the print goes straight onto a board, panel or window without a separate mounting step. Keep Kodak’s own qualifier on the floor-graphic entry: it is a floor graphic only with an acceptable laminate over it.

Ink compatibility

Kodak’s compatibility statement names printer brands — HP, Encad and Epson — rather than dye, pigment, latex, solvent or UV chemistries, and we have not translated those brand names into a chemistry rating. Working with it

Kodak’s protection guidance covers several routes: mounting under glass, laminating, clear coating or photographic sleeves. Where a laminate is used, pressure-sensitive types give the best bond and hand application is not recommended. Measured optics are 90 brightness, 95% opacity and 86 CIE whiteness — a warm white rather than a bright display white, consistent with its non-adhesive sibling. Rolls run 36 to 60 inches wide on 2-inch cores.
