The SC-T3100M fits architecture studios, engineering satellites, survey teams and construction offices that regularly handle A1 and smaller documents. The SC-T3100M provides Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and USB connectivity, plus direct printing for PDF, TIFF and JPEG files. Apple AirPrint and Epson Cloud Solution PORT are listed mobile-printing technologies. For teams receiving PDFs from project platforms, direct-file capability can reduce dependence on a workstation for straightforward output, although CAD and BIM files still need to be issued through the firm’s established application and driver workflow.

IT should assess the device as a network endpoint, not merely an office appliance. Listed protocols include SNMP, IPSec, WPA3 and SSL/TLS, and Ethernet supports 10,100,1000 Mbit/s data rates. Confirm network segmentation, authentication expectations, scan-to-folder permissions, SMTP requirements and firmware-management responsibilities before installation. A scan-to-network-folder feature is only helpful when the destination remains available after the first password change.

Choose the SC-T3100M specifically when integrated copying and scanning are part of the workflow. If the office only prints, the Epson SC-T3100 24-in and Epson SC-T3100N 24-in are the more direct same-family alternatives to evaluate. Their relevance is simple: a scanner adds capability, but it also adds a workflow function that has to be used often enough to justify the space and administrative attention.
