What it actually prints well
Four inks — Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, through the Canon PF-03 printhead — at up to 2400 x 1200 DPI. On coated, glossy, or proofing stock that combination gives you clean renderings and readable color-coded drawings up to A2. But be honest about width. The moment you need D-size, 24-inch, or full bid sets, you’ve outgrown 17 inches entirely. The iPF510 is a color proofing and small-format machine, and it’s fair at it. Four inks, 2400 x 1200 DPI, tight +/-0.1% line accuracy, and a footprint that fits on a bench. If your world is A2 renderings, boards, and desk-side check prints, it earns its spot.
