What you should know

SIENA200LPSA is the Magic Siena luster photo paper supplied on a pressure-sensitive adhesive backing — 8 mil of photo face at 200 gsm, 9 mil once the adhesive is counted. Everything that makes the Siena family work is intact: the microporous coating dries prints instantly, so output can be handled as it leaves the machine. What the adhesive adds is the mounting step, already done.

The adhesive is what separates this from the plain SIENA200L. A photo print that has to end up on foam board, panel or a display fixture normally means a print, a mount adhesive and a press. Here the print comes off the plotter ready to lay down, which is why the vendor lists it for production posters and event installations rather than only for individual display pieces.

Ink compatibility

Rated BEST for aqueous dye and aqueous pigment inks — the aqueous photo plotters this paper is aimed at. Latex and HP PageWide are each rated GOOD. Solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks are not among its rated chemistries.

Working with it

The photo face measures 96% opacity, 98 brightness and 130 CIE whiteness, identical to the non-adhesive Siena luster, and Magic states prints dry instantly and exhibit vivid colours that will not fade on display. The luster finish is a slightly textured satin that sits between gloss and matte, which is the practical choice for a mounted graphic lit from several directions at once. Rolls run 24 to 60 inches wide on 3-inch cores.
