Block-out wall graphics and graphics over dark-coloured walls are Kodak’s stated ideal applications. Both describe the same failure that opacity prevents: a translucent graphic applied over a dark or already-printed surface takes on what is underneath, and the image loses its whites first. Overlapping panels have the same problem at the seam.

Ink compatibility

This listing carries a rating set that does not match its name, and it is worth stating plainly rather than smoothing over. Despite the AQ designation, the ratings on file put UV-curable and solvent inks at BEST, with aqueous pigment rated compatible. There is no aqueous dye rating, and no latex or eco-solvent rating. If you are buying this for an aqueous pigment plotter, the material is rated for it — but the designed-for chemistries on record are solvent and UV. Ask us to confirm against Kodak before committing to a pallet if that distinction affects your machine choice.

Working with it

Kodak recommends it outdoors for up to six months without additional protection, and publishes no overlamination requirement — a laminate would work against the removability the product exists for. Rolls run 42 to 60 inches wide on 3-inch cores. The 13-mil figure is the base film plus liner; the 6-mil in the product name refers to the base alone.
