Line work on bond is the point here, and the T630 handles it. HP-GL/2 and CALS G4 are in the page-description list, so your AutoCAD and Bluebeam output lands the way you drew it. The HP 713 printhead pushes black, cyan, magenta and yellow at 2400 x 1200 DPI. Fine linework reads clean. Small text stays legible on a folded set.
The automatic sheet feeder is the quiet win. It holds sheets up to 13″ x 19″ and lets the machine switch between the 24-inch roll and A3/A4 without you standing there feeding paper. For a two- or three-person studio, that’s the difference between babysitting a mixed set and walking away.

The read
The T630 24-in is honest about what it is: an entry-level plotter for a small shop that needs correct linework on demand, not a production floor. The auto sheet feeder earns its keep on mixed sets, and the footprint won’t dominate an office. Just go in clear-eyed on the small ink tanks and the single roll. If you print more than a couple of dozen sheets a week, or you need color renders daily, price out the T650 before you sign. For everyone else printing check sets against a 5 p.m. clock, this does the job and gets out of the way.

Can the T630 24-in scan or copy?
No. It’s a print-only machine with no scanner or copier. If you need to scan as-builts or copy existing drawings, look at the DesignJet T830 24-in instead.
What roll and sheet sizes does it handle?
It takes rolls up to 24 inches wide and cut sheets. The automatic sheet feeder handles sizes up to 13″ x 19″, and manual feed accepts media up to 24″ x 75″.
Which inks and printhead does it use?
It uses HP 712 ink cartridges in black, cyan, magenta and yellow, plus the HP 713 printhead. The 712 tanks are relatively small, so plan for more frequent swaps if you print heavy color.
Is this still a current model?
Yes. The 2025 Edition (5HB09D) is in active production with updated firmware and security. The original version (5HB09A) is discontinued but remains common in the installed base.
How fast is it in practice?

Should I get the 24-inch or the 36-inch version?
