Premium Textured Display Film

KODAK Premium Textured Display Film is a textured PVC/PET lay-flat film at 13 mil and 430 gsm. Kodak states it is designed for the quick and easy production of all kinds of display graphics, and the construction reflects that: lay-flat means the film does not retain curl off the roll, which is the property that turns a display film into a same-day product rather than one that has to be weighted and left overnight.

Exhibition graphics, roll-up banners and printable pop-up stands are Kodak’s stated ideal applications. All three are formats where the graphic stands unsupported and is seen from close range under strong lighting, which is what the textured face is for — it kills the specular reflection that makes a smooth display film look cheap under a spotlight.

Ink compatibility

Solvent, latex and UV-curable inks are each rated BEST, with eco-solvent rated compatible. It is not rated for aqueous printers. No aqueous dye or aqueous pigment rating exists on file for this film. That is normal for a heavyweight PVC display material, but it is worth confirming against your press rather than assuming from the product category.

Working with it

Opacity is 99%, effectively total, so an image on one face will not read through to the other — which is what a freestanding roll-up or pop-up panel requires. Kodak publishes no overlamination requirement for this film; the lay-flat construction and the textured face are doing the protective work. Supplied in a single 36-inch roll width on 3-inch cores, so wider exhibition panels will need to be planned as multiple pieces.
