What you should know
KODAK Premium Photo Paper, Glossy / 10 mil / Solvent is a true resin-coated photo paper — 10 mil, 225 gsm, gloss — that Kodak states offers exceptional photo-quality reproduction. Resin-coated construction is what makes it behave like a photographic print rather than a heavy coated paper: the image sits on a sealed base instead of soaking into fibre. The distinction to get right before ordering is the receiving coating, which is built for solvent-family inks rather than aqueous ones.

The last item deserves a careful read. It is Kodak’s own listing, but it describes a photo paper pressed into a lit fixture for a limited run — not a dedicated backlit film. For a permanent lightbox installation, a purpose-built backlit polyester is the correct material, and Kodak stocks one.
Ink compatibility
Rated BEST across four chemistries: solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV-curable. It is not for aqueous printers. Aqueous dye and aqueous pigment inks are not rated for this paper, so it is not the right roll for an aqueous photo plotter — Kodak’s aqueous-series photo papers cover that side of the shop.
Working with it
Kodak’s finishing guidance is firm and specific. A protective laminate should always be applied after printing; hand-applying it is not recommended; pressure-sensitive or thermal laminates should be used on equipment; and the image must be allowed to dry for a full 24 hours before the laminate goes on. On a solvent print that wait is functional rather than cautious. Supplied in a single 36-inch roll width on 3-inch cores. The same premium base is stocked in satin, which runs considerably wider at 54 to 61 inches.
