Latex ink is water-based and cures with heat, so prints come off the roll dry, low-odor and ready to handle. For a construction office that hangs graphics in occupied lobbies or client spaces, that matters — no solvent smell, no long off-gassing wait. HP rates the machine at 91 m²/hr in normal quality, but that’s a rated pace, not a finished-job number. Add roll loading, cure time on the takeoff, and cutting, and your real throughput per shift lands well below the headline.

Six inks — black, cyan, light cyan, light magenta, magenta and yellow — give you the light colors that keep gradients and rendered skies smooth. That’s a graphics color set, tuned for photographic and presentation output, not the crisp monochrome linework of a technical plot.

On a wide-format graphics machine, the printer is the easy part. The roll workflow is where a shift is won or lost. The 335 takes rolls up to 9.84 inches in diameter and media up to 0.02 inches thick, on 2-inch or 3-inch cores via the HP Series 300 64-in spindles. This machine fits AEC firms that produce their own presentation and site graphics and want to stop outsourcing banners and boards. It’s the front-of-house color engine, not the technical plotter. If your daily reality is bid sets, redlines and as-builts on bond, this is the wrong tool — you want a dedicated plan plotter for that linework, and you’d keep the 335 alongside it, not instead of it.
