GFIOP140 is a satin poster paper on a latex-saturated base — 6 mil, 140 gsm. Saturating the base sheet with latex is what turns an ordinary paper into a wet-strength one: Dietzgen states the treated base creates a strong foundation for both indoor and outdoor applications, which is not something an untreated poster paper can claim.

This is a paper specified for shops printing posters by the hundred rather than one presentation piece, and the satin receptive coating carries part of that: Dietzgen states it promotes ink adhesion and resists scratching, which is what a print needs when it is trimmed, stacked and shipped rather than framed straight off the machine.
Ink compatibility
Three chemistries are rated BEST — solvent, latex and UV-curable. Eco-solvent is rated GOOD, and toner is rated GOOD as well. Aqueous dye and aqueous pigment inks are not rated for this paper. It is squarely a solvent-and-latex production stock, which is consistent with the outdoor brief.
Working with it
Rolls run 30 to 60 inches wide on 3-inch cores. Where the job wants more body — a heavier hand at large format, or a poster that has to stand in a frame without buckling — the same latex-saturated construction and the same satin coating are made at 9 mil and 212 gsm as GFIOP212, in widths from 48 to 61 inches and on a 6-inch core as well as a 3-inch one.
