ABAQA lists its ideal applications more specifically still: high-volume posters, high-volume point of purchase, and presentation graphics. The repeated word is volume. This is a paper specified when a campaign needs a hundred posters that all look the same, not when a single print needs to last a decade. Matte is the right finish for that work because it can be viewed from any angle under any retail lighting without a hotspot.

Ink compatibility

Aqueous dye, aqueous pigment and latex inks are each rated BEST. Solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks are not among its rated chemistries, so this is an aqueous and latex stock — ABAQA builds separate solvent PE papers for the other side of the shop.

Working with it

ABAQA is firmer about finishing here than on most of its display films: a protective laminate is always recommended after printing. Thermal or pressure-sensitive laminates can both be used on bond-based paper, and the image should be allowed to dry for 24 hours before the laminate goes on. That guidance matters because a coated matte paper marks easily during handling, which is exactly what happens on a high-volume job. Rolls run 24 to 36 inches wide on 3-inch cores.
