Working with it
Lustre is the standard professional portrait surface for a practical reason: it holds close to gloss depth in the shadows while resisting the fingerprints and reflections that make gloss difficult in an album or a frame. Kodak’s finishing guidance still applies — a protective laminate is always recommended after printing, hand application is not recommended, pressure-sensitive or thermal laminates can be used, and the image should dry for 24 hours first.
