Photo Tex Opaque Repositionable Fabric / Solvent

KODAK Photo Tex Opaque Repositionable Fabric / Solvent is a 13-mil, 305 gsm repositionable fabric made from 40–45% polyester and 40–45% pulp-cellulose. It is the solvent-press member of Kodak’s opaque Photo Tex line — the same construction as the aqueous version, stocked for a different set of machines and in a wider roll.

The second application is the one that distinguishes Photo Tex from adhesive vinyl. A graphic can be taken down, moved and put back up, which changes how a retail or exhibition programme is costed — the same panel serves multiple sites rather than being consumed at the first one. The opaque construction means it works over dark or previously graphic-covered walls without ghosting.

Ink compatibility

Solvent, eco-solvent and UV-curable inks are each rated compatible. It is not rated for aqueous printers. No aqueous dye or aqueous pigment rating exists on file for this version — Kodak stocks a separate aqueous listing of the same opaque fabric for those presses. No chemistry here carries a BEST rating, so expect to profile rather than to drop in a stock preset.

Working with it

Kodak recommends this material outdoors for up to six months without additional protection, and publishes no overlamination requirement. On a repositionable fabric that is the right call — a laminate would defeat the removability the product is bought for. Supplied in a single 60-inch roll width on 3-inch cores, six inches wider than the aqueous version, which matters when wall panels are being planned to minimise seams. The 13-mil figure includes the liner as well as the base.
