Dietzgen’s data does not prescribe what any individual tint is for — colour-coding a plan set by discipline, revision or distribution copy is a shop convention rather than a paper specification. What the data does say is that a tinted 432 behaves exactly like the white production bond in every other respect: the surface takes pen and pencil for redlines and field notes, and the sheet is compatible with common stapling and binding equipment.
Ink compatibility
Dietzgen rates 432B BEST on toner and BEST on HP PageWide. Aqueous dye, aqueous pigment, latex and UV inks are each rated GOOD. That is the same rating profile the untinted bond carries, so a shop already running white 20 lb stock can add a tint without re-profiling anything.
Working with it
Overlamination is not required; where extra protection from dirt, abrasion and moisture is wanted, 432B accepts pressure-sensitive, heat-assist and thermal overlaminates. At 88% opacity it is intended as a single-sided print, on a 3-inch core at 75 gsm. Blue is stocked in both forms: rolls from 12 to 36 inches wide, and 22-inch cut sheets. Note that the four tints are not stocked in identical widths, so confirm the size you need is offered in the colour you want before ordering.
